How to replace a split body ball valve seal kit
#6 How to replace a split body ball valve seal kit
- Unscrew the handle nut and remove the handle
- Unscrew the gland nut then remove Belleville washers and the antifriction ring
- Unscrew the body bolts
- Separate the body parts
- Remove the ball
- Take out the stem and the gland follower
- Remove the graphite spiral wound gasket
- Remove the seat
- Insert the new seat
- Repeat the process with the second seat
- Remove stem thrust seal
- Remove the gland packing
- Replace the gland packing and the stem thrust seal by the new ones
- Remove the stem o-ring
- Replace the stem o-ring by the new one
- Put the stem back in place
- Insert the ball
- Replace the spiral wound gasket by the new one
- Put the body connector back in place
- Screw the body bolts
- Complete the bolts tightening with the torque wrench (setting according to the data sheet)
- Put the gland follower, the antifriction ring and the Belleville washers back in place
- Screw the gland nut
- Put the handle back in place
- The new gasket kit is now mounted and the valve is now ready to be used
